Sound Healing Workshop & Meditation

Join us for a hands on workshop at our church on Saturday, April 5th, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. Learn how music has the power to heal, and try your hand at playing the harp or the singing crystal bowls. We’ll close the afternoon with a sound meditation.

Bring your own yoga mat or blanket (and we’ll have some extra if you need to borrow one). Refreshments will be served.

Our Presenters:

Roxanne is a member of the Church of the New Jerusalem in Bath, Maine. She picked up the harp when she started seminary, 8 years ago, and she likes to say "I play under the same stars that David played."   Roxanne is a therapeutic harpist and plays for hospice and veterinary clinics.  The music she plays is intended to help soothe the soul and is offered as a balm for those who are suffering.  She adores the creative process and delights in scientific inquiry which excites her imagination when she ponders Swedenborg.

Rev. Catherine Lauber

Rev. Catherine joined the Fryeburg New Church as its minister in 2023. She believes that a part of the purpose of the church is to provide wisdom, resources and neighborly love to individuals to help them grow, heal and regenerate. She has been instrumental in developing several new programs at our church, including Sound Bath Meditations, which she leads twice a month.

A sound bath meditation is a form of sound healing that offers a deeply relaxing, full body listening experience that intentionally uses sound vibrations to help calm the nervous system, release tension, and allow the body, mind and spirit to relax.
